MSN messages send, but not disappear from desktop, thus no history entry.

My message windows are setup so they close after the message is sent. MSN messages don't always self close. If the chat window doesn't self close, the message isn't written to the chat history. Also, this makes me wonder if the message was even received by the receipant. Most of the time, I think they are received.

This bug affects 1.3.2, 1.3.4 RC 1 and 2 and I believe it affected 1.3.0.

Can you run 'licq -d31' from a terminal and take a look at the packet dumps? What you should see is something like this...

The key points are the "MSG 11" and then the next packet is the "ACK 11". For each MSG XXX there will be an ACK XXX, if there is no ACK, the message has not been recieved and you will get an error back (I think) in a few minutes.

The chat windows that don't auto close do receive the appropriate ACK number.

Can you please explain it once more? Do the messages that get the ACK show up in the chat window? And does the chat window close? What about messages that do not get the ACK? Do they get saved in the history and the window closes??

Sometimes, messages sent, but didn't auto close wouldn't show up in the message history log.

The message below (sent in 1.3.4 RC3) didn't autoclose, but did put an entry in the message history. This is an intermittend problem, so it's hard to get data unless I am alway running debug. And some messages aren't appropriate for bug tracking =)
