Description

Ít hast something to do with the authorisation. I think... When I rerequest an authorisation sometimes the status of the user is shown correctly again. But it seems not to work if I get the authorisation when I'm offline...

It happend this week. From one day to the other nearly all my contacts except one or two stayed offline even if it was a fraind who 's sitting with his notebook on the chair to the left and was obviously online...

What's wrong?

It's perhaps because of AOL's modification in the OSCAR protocol - since last week no user-side contact list are possible. Or accurately - they are possible, but only authorized users in server-side list can be seen online.

Simply request authorization and also authorize all users in your list, and ensure they are in server-side contact list.

I can confirm problem and solution. Resolved it for myself by switching to the server side contact list, since authorization did not always work (firewall problems) and did not always solve the problem, even when successfull. It seems that AOL finally started to really implement the authorization feature.

However, it seems that the problem can be solved by switching to server side contact list.

I propose that the licq frontend (or daemon) should warn the user if he still uses the local contact list.

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to invalid

This is a known server side change requiring contacts to be in server side list and fully authorized. As this is not something we can workaround at the client side I'm closing this ticket.
