It doesn't work in 1.2.6. Remote client: sim-icq 0.8.1, supports ssl. OS: FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE

btw, why don't add sim-icq into list of clients which understand SSL?

Yes, of course they work. AFAIK SSL code in SIM is written specially to be compatible with Licq. SSL with SIM works fine.

if i recall correctly, licq don't detect that the other peer is using sim-icq.

i just tested this to be sure. ssl with sim works like a charm, even encrypted file transfers are no problem. i believe sim should be added to the list of valid ssl-peers :-) thomas

This will not be added into 1.2.7, it will be in the next release after that though.

I looked into this, and Sim does not have any flag at all to indicate whether or not we can use SSL with them. So, if I enable auto secure connections for Sim clients, they may fail or they may work depending if the remote user has SSL compiled into Sim or not.

I think it is best to leave it as is, unless someone has a strong objection to this.

It would help if someone could ask the sim developers to add a flag indicating whether or not they have SSL activated.

This won't be ready in time, so we will wait for the next release and I will ask the Sim developer's if they will consider adding a flag.
