Description (last modified by erijo) (diff)

Every 1.3.x and even latest CVS version has this bug.

I'm using QT (qt-gui) plugin and Server side contactlist.

I have tested it only on ICQ protocol.

When licq is running for a while, from time to time some buddies from the contactlist become Offline even if they are still Online, Away and so on.

With the "Some buddies" expression I meen about 5 contacts.

I must reconnect (go Offline and back Online) to solve this and to see their right status again.

I have observed similar behaviour here. I'm not sure, but I think it could be related to that authorisation stuff of ICQ. Licq doesn't explicitly show if a contact on your list that needs authorization has authorized you or not. I could see the contact in question, see when he logged on or off, but sometimes he seemed to log of even though he was still online. After I requested and received authorization the problem was solved. It would be quite usefull if Licq somehow marked the users from whom you have not yet received authorization, as you seemingly can't rely on their status displayed by Licq.

This is fixed in the latest CVS version of Licq. It will be included in the next release, or you may use the CVS version. Read http://www.licq.org/daily.php

[4477] has some work done that may fix this, it is currently being tested. Hopefully other Licq users will test this!

My experience with [4477] is that it fixes this issue, but creates a new issue. Randomly, the code for a fake offline indicates a real offline. This is rare (in 48 hours I had 2 users), and is much better than this bug. So, after a little more testing, I will close this and open a new bug if I can't fix it in time for 1.3.4. The real issue remains, what does this packet mean??

A is my regular icq account, B is my test account. A is on B's list and vice versa. I'm running both with the same licq, r4528, from the same computer.

After being online for a while, A gets a fake offline popup (regarding B). This without me changing neither of the account's status. But all is good since the offline is ignored. The problem comes if I close B's licq. Then B is still online on A's list and no fake offline popup. If I start B's licq, connect and then close licq again, A's list is updated (showing B offline as it should).

If I, after getting the fake offline popup, changes B's status (to e.g. away) the status is updated on A's list. Then when I close B's licq, B is offline on A's as well.

This has been fixed in [4551] with a subsequent bug fixed in [4553]. After this is done being tested (08/13/2006) the debug section will be removed and this will be closed.
