licq qt-gui hangs when licq 1.2.7 wants SSL

Reported by: voja Owned by: emostar

Description

When an licq 1.2.7 wants to build up an SSL-encrypted connection to licq 1.3.2, the 1.3.2 qt-gui hangs and you can't do anything in the GUI. When clicking on the "x" to close, KDE reports the application does not respond.

Downgrading to licq 1.3.0 made the SSL-encrypted connection work again. The problem is in the current CVS snapshot downloaded today and in the Debian unstable package.

I can confirm that LICQ 1.3.2 hangs everytime somebody tries to initialize Secure channel with me. My friend has 1.3.2 just like me, so this is probably 1.3.2 bug and not compatibility issue with older releases.

Confirming that in 1.3.0 this was NOT an issue, everything worked.

I get an error when I try to use OpenSSL in 1.3.2: [SSL] SSL_accept error 0, SSL_5

$ openssl version OpenSSL 0.9.7e 25 Oct 2004

This is fixed in the latest CVS version of Licq. It will be included in the next release, or you may use the CVS version. Read http://www.licq.org/daily.php
